ZigBee is the most common wirelesscommunication protocol for lamps and lanterns. Because of the long developmenttime and relatively mature technology, the network architecture of ZigBeeitself has advantages, in addition to more power saving. The outdoor lighting part, ZigBee is also the most widelyused at the present stage. However, due to the short application distance,there are many limitations in the application of outdoor lighting. It isestimated that after 2017, the share of ZigBee in outdoor intelligent lightingmarket will slow down.  With the rise ofthe Internet of things, many low power wide area network (LPWAN), which isdesigned for low bandwidth, low power consumption, long distance and largenumber of connected applications, arises at the historic moment. By using thespectrum NBIoT, and the use of non authorized spectrum LoRa (Long Range) andSigfox as the mainstream. LPWAN's long distance communication capabilities cansupport large-scale Internet of things deployment, and avoid regular batteryreplacement and lower maintenance costs.

 

 

 

 

In several low power wide area networks, LoRa is earlier andmore open. It set up an industrial alliance in 2015, and is now the most widelyused in LPWAN. In 2016, the standard freeze NB IoT, due to the use ofauthorized spectrum, can avoid wireless interference, and has operator levelsecurity and quality assurance. Therefore, it has more competitive advantagesin the intelligent lighting scenarios with higher reliability and the fastestgrowth of market share.
